HISTORY & TROPHY

Thomas Aquinas School of Law, Assumption University, was established in 1992 as the eighth school of the university with the objective of producing graduates who possess expertise in business law, English proficiency, morals and ethics, and the competencies necessary to work in the legal profession in response to political and economic circumstances, as well as societal demands.

As of 2022, the school has been providing legal education for 30 years and has delivered graduates to the labor market for various careers and professions, including entrepreneurs, judges, public prosecutors, practicing lawyers, legal advisors, police officers, judge advocate general officers, administrative officers, public enterprise officers, university lecturers, international organization officers, and members of the House of Representatives. The school’s quality graduates have received significant recognition from employers and  professional organizations, such as the Thai Bar Association, the Lawyer Council, the Office of the Judiciary, the Office of the Attorney General, and various state agencies, international and domestic law firms, public companies, and private business organizations.

Furthermore, Thomas Aquinas School of Law, Assumption University, is the only private law school in Thailand offering a bachelor’s degree in law. In alignment with its mission to promote inclusivity and cater to a diverse student body, the school is also preparing to launch a Bachelor of Laws (International Program) in the upcoming academic year. This program aims to provide an exceptional opportunity for international students who may not be proficient in the Thai language to pursue their legal education in an accessible and globally minded environment. Additionally, the school offers specialized programs that students can choose based on their interests and the country’s developmental objectives, including Law and Information Technology, Intellectual Property Management, Law and Logistics Management, Law and Real Estate Business, and Law and Judicial Process. At the graduate level, students have two alternative options tailored to meet diverse preferences and future career aspirations: the Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Trade and Investment Law and the Master of Arts (M.A.) in Law, Management, and Information Technology.           On the occasion of its 30th anniversary, the school is committed to enhancing and elevating the quality of education to gain international recognition and certification. This will be achieved by modifying curricula, applying the AUN-QA approach for program management, and utilizing EdPEx at the school level.
